Maquettes, 2022, involve a series of 24 new sculptures made of wood. They draw from a language of design and modern architecture. Within each sculpture there dually exists the curiosity to find meaning of the human experience and relationships to space in both public and private realms.

I am hoping that these sculptures can facilitate a multitude of emotional and visceral feelings. Envisioned as monumental structures, the works potentially take up space and serve as a destination - a marker for refuge, peace, safety, and comfort. I am interested in lines, shape, and balance; employing geometric angles and the use of cantilever schematics.

In the studio, each sculpture becomes an experiment of physics and engineering.
