Unconquered People is a short film that brings attention to discourse associated with histories of the African diaspora, Blackness in America, and the spirituality of nature. It highlights the resilience of past generations and illustrates the historical contributions Black people have made to western culture specifically in art and music.

Unconquered People is a poetic series of recorded sounds, moving images, and photographs that touch on the ideas of picturing freedom and meditation on the histories of the African diaspora. Two characters emerge in the same location, never meeting throughout the duration of the film. One character attempts to navigate the field while the other character plays a trumpet in contemplation - his tune serving as the score of the film. Tension builds in moments where they both seem to rest. Field recordings of environmental sounds are layered with the blaring trumpet. Both characters existing within and escaping from the Anthropocene.
